One of the most frustrating things about being a freelance writer in today's age of Internet job postings is wading through the scams. Craigslist can be your best friend or your worst enemy, depending on how savvy you are. It comes with the territory I suppose, but really.
In addition, I am not a fan of these website that say "Publish your articles here and make money!" when what they really mean is write your little heart out for months and earn $1 and change, $2 if you're lucky. The only website I have made money from is Gather, and I mean real money that you can take to the bank (er ... Paypal account), not the financing required to purchase a Bazooka Joe.

Great News
I am very excited. I was just informed that a story I wrote and submitted last year is going to be published in an anthology. Unfortunately, it is with a pen name, which I've debated here before, but it is a good story, one that needs to be told, and I am not yet ready to tell it with my name.
Yay!
Yay!
